Trauma/Phys Inj: Traumatic injury is a term which refers to physical injuries of sudden onset and severity which require immediate medical attention. So, yes, trauma is a form of physical injury. Physical injury can range from a simple abrasion of the skin to major open wounds and broken wounds (trauma). Hope that helps to clarify the difference between the two terms
