Can an upper respiratory infection trigger my ibs?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

IBS: How do you know you have IBS? Certain diagnostic criteria must be met in order to diagnose IBS. These are called the Rome criteria. Look them up. IBS is the most commonly diagnosed GI condition for the same reasons that depression, bipolar disorder, and fibromyalgia are over-diagnosed. When a doctor is being lazy or doesn't have a clue, he still labels you with something, so he can get paid.
