Yes: It is more common among children than adults, however an epidemiological study has shown a decreasing trend in the younger population and an increasing trend in the older population

Yes it is: Appendicitis is most common from the ages of around 6 or 7 to 21. You are correct, it is more common in kids. I have removed inflamed appendixes from a 10 month old and an 85 year old. It can happen any time.
