A member asked:

Can my seven month old have fish? what kind usually we are from the philippines

A doctor has provided 1 answer

In most cases, yes: Yes, as long as it's not shellfish, fish can be safe for infants after 6mo of age, as long as it's mashed or pureed. Fish is a very rich source of DHA and probably the healthiest source of Omega-3 fatty acids. Avoid SHELLFISH due to risk for allergic reaction which can be very dangerous. Also avoid high-mercury fish like mackerel, swordfish, some tuna, and please be careful to use BONELESS fish.
