Probably not: If the pain "comes and goes" it is fairly unlikely it is anything serious and it would be a little unusual for a 27 year old to have bad osteoarthritis, although they could possibly have a form of inflammatory arthritis. I would not hesitate to be seen if it becomes more severe or persistent.
