Uncommon but it depe: Arthiritis usually means inflammation in the joints. So in the pelvis we have hip joints as the main joints but there are also spinal and pelvic joint unions(sarcro-illiac joints). There are two types of arthritis: osteoarthritis is degenrtrative joint disease , mostly occuring after 50 years of age. Other arhtritis is called rheumatoid arthritis which typically occurs at younger age in 20-40s.

See below: You can osteoarthritis if there has been trauma, if you are overweight, or if you have had multiple vaginal deliveries. If you have involvement of the si joint this can be seen with osteoarthritis and seronegative spondyloarthritis. Talk to your treating doctor about what type arthritis you have as therapy varies according to what you have.
