Low back pain: Acute low back pain is often due to lumbosacral strain but other causes include ruptured disc, kidney stone, aneurysm of abdominal aorta or more serious vertebral injury. Try applying cold applications for 1-2 days and then heat. Nsaids like Advil or Aleve (naproxen) can help. Go to the emergency room if pain is excruciating or there is inability to ambulate without very severe difficulty.
