My daughter is only 12 and her right shoulder blade has been hurting for about a week now. it hurts at day time and gets worse at night.

May be worth a visit: I've seen this as a muscle issue in kids with hand over head activities like volleyball, or as an early sign of pneumonia. The muscle issue may require some physical therapy to speed recovery. I would let someone examine her to sort it out.
