Plagiocephaly: Plagiocephaly, radiographic evaluation of the skull would reveal unilateral premature fusion of the lambdoid suture in posterior plagiocephaly. Examination would reveal a flattening of one occiput with an apparent bulging of the normal side. In positional plagiocephaly, there is no fusion of the lambdoid suture. Surgery is the definitive treatment in posterior plagiocephaly.

Craniofacial teams: There are many craniofacial teams in the U.S. and all over the world. They will do the full evaluation and discuss the possible corrections. Life is never perfect, and neither are surgical corrections. If a patient is outside the maximum age that a team will treat (they are usually geared for children), the team's staff can still tell adult patients where to go for help.
