Expect to talk.: A good psychiatrist will listen for quite a while - a really long while - sometimes spanning several sessions - before he or she starts to advise. So expect to talk - a lot.

Psychiatrist Visit: I understand your concern. Be clear that it is your decision to see Psychiatrist and that you need help for anxiety, depression, and hearing voices; how they are interfering with your relationships, school and personal life. Psychiatrist can ask you about your symptoms, duration, use of alcohol and drugs, previous episodes. Treatments, family history; and assess mental status for Diagnosis.
