Hi, my tongue is yellow and my papillae are enlarged. i am terrified of getting black hairy tongue. what should i do?

Don't panic.: 1st, black hairy tongue is a harmless (f unappealing) condition - it shouldn't affect your overall health. 2nd, yellow tongue & papillae enlargement often occur because of lack of oral hygiene. So see a dentist, brush 3x/day, avoid peroxide mouthwashes, witch hazel, menthol, antacids. Also, IF YOU SMOKE, STOP ALL TOBACCO!! That's the most common cause & avoids problems later on. Brush your tongue: Brush your tongue with the fluffy side of your toothbrush. Do it until your tongue looks better. Avoid Mountain Dew.
