A member asked:

I was bit by a (2 month old)stray cat 8 months ago(in india), couldnt take rabies shot then, can i take them now? could i still get rabies?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Take the vaccine now: The incubation period averages 1 to 2 mo but may be >1 yr. May still be worthwhile giving the vaccine even though quite late. Chances are the cat was not rabid but never delay vaccines when indicated. And if in doubt always consult a local doctor or your own in the US. Good luck!
