Likely not a fractur: Hip popping is most often due to soft tissue catching around the hip. Or, it can be cartilage in the hip joint. Usually that would be associated with pain of some sort. Unlikely to be a hip fracture, which would be painful. Repeated hip popping, or hip locking or catching would be worth an evaluation by a hip specialist. Likely benign, but evaluation recommended.
