My shoulder locks up and cracks really loud.. it hurts until cracks. i've had x-rays and my doctor says it's fine, but clearly somethings wrong?

Soft tissues: 27y female has intermittent shoulder "locking" that releases with a loud "crack" & X-ray normal. These symptoms suggest a soft tissue injury, which would not show up on an X-ray. An MRI might be needed if it persists. A joint surrounded by spastic muscles, which hold joint tightly "form closed", sometimes evokes such sound with motion. However, with muscle spasm pain is expected.
