Sounds like you have: been diagnosed with mitral valve prolapse which can cause occasional chest pain. It is a relatively rare occurrence but occasionally this progresses to valvular leakage or even rupture of the tendineae requiring replacement of the valve. You should be seen and evaluated by a health care professional on a yearly basis with periodic repeat echocardiography.

Mitral valve: On a scale of 1 to 10, this is probably this is a 3. Obviously you had an echo done. The thing I would pay attention to is how much regurgitation is occurring. If its "moderate" I would repeat the echo at least every 2 years. Down the road, hopefully many years, you may need a valve replacement. The other thing is your heart rhythm and any occurrences of unprovoked tachycardias.
