I took pepto bismol, (bismuth subsalicylate) is it ok to breastfeed? if not when will it be out of my system?

Halflife of 5 hours: Low amounts of salicylates enter breast milk; . A case report describes bowel obstruction in a breast-fed infant whose mother applied a bismuth-containing ointment to her nipples prior to breast-feeding. Abstain from breast feeding for 1-2 days for it to clear. Pump and dump in the mean time to ensure you keep mild production to max.
