Possible: Have you tried a new makeup product or remover? This does sound like an allergy or contact dermatitis of some sort. I would recommend changing to a different brand if possible. Also keep a cold compress on the eye and pay attention if the symptoms worsen. If the pain gets very bad, heavy swelling occurs or spreads, or if any vision changes occur, go to an urgent care center or ER immediately.
