THC: Definitely not a good idea. This also depends on how bad the concussion is.

Yes BUT: There is research which suggests that weed is good for concussions. But there are good studies which show that teen/young adult brain growth is stunted by regular weed use.Given the question,I assume you've smoked for a while. Why not lay off for 6 years until your amygdalla & hippocampus brain structures r fully developed? http://www.webmd.com/brain/news/20080602/marijuana-use-may-shrink-the-brain

Bad idea.: While it hasn't been definitively studied, there is no particular reason to think it will help. Given the unknowns -- what preparation, what purity, what strength, what effect -- it would seem wise to avoid a mind altering drug when your mind has already been altered by a concussion, and is vulnerable -- especially when brain healing is necessary.

Cannabis: You have received responses that have encouraged you to use cannabis and some that have discouraged you. As a psychiatrist who sees negative aftermath of cannabis use I am in the later camp. I don't recommend it.

No: You should not ingest mind altering drugs or alcohol with a concussion.
