A member asked:

Heart rate of 70 right before bed. is this normal?bp numbers are 118/77. i take atenolol. is this ok?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: This is a normal heart rate and blood pressure. Atenolol as I am sure you know is a beta blocker and will slow your heart rate down and decrease your blood pressure. Be mindful of symptoms such as light-headedness especially when standing up quickly, unsteadiness during activity. These are signs of hypotension and bradycardia (slow heart rate) and can indicate overdose of Atenolol.
