Possibly: Although your LDL is undoubtably high, it's important to find out some more information before deciding whether to start lipid lowering medication. Do you have any history of heart disease, diabetes, tobacco use, family history of heart disease? These questions will help a physician assess your overall 10 yr risk for coronary artery disease.
