The general rule is: Wait longer in this case. The recommendation to have a great chance at a successful family life and to raise healthy children is to be married, settled down, and have jobs that offer health insurance. If a woman is not married, and there is a boyfriend, the next recommendation would be marriage. Sex can come later, after getting on good birth control, unless the new couple is wanting another baby.
