Not normal: if the pain is severe or gets worse after 72 hours it may require attention and you should call your dds/surgeon.

Possible Dry Socket: Hey Beth... Yep. Need to let the surgeon know. You may have alveolar osteitis, or a dry socket. They will want to see you and they have medicines they can place in the healing area to help with the discomfort. Call them asap :)
