Is tylenol (acetaminophen) or ibuprofen a more potent pain reliever, if the doses are the same?

Not the same: Hi Lucy, Tylenol (acetaminophen) and Ibuprofen do not work the same and the doses do not compare. The amount of pain they reduce will depend on the issue being treated and may vary from person to person. Tylenol (acetaminophen) is well known for treating fevers and headaches, but does not treat inflammation as well as an NSAID like ibuprofen. Always follow prescribed dosing.
