Yes it can certainly: recur, in the same place likely. There could be some bacteria harbored in that particular location especially if it is a lymph node, or bone, or space where tiny clusters of abscess can remain. Or you may just have an inflammation from trauma or pressure. If the redness and pain start to creep in, go see a healthcare provider right away for proper diagnosis and treatment.
