On 25mg atenolol daily and having trouble sleeping. was told i can't take sleep aid (tylenol (acetaminophen) pm, zquil) is melatonin a safe alternative?

Yes: Melatonin is safe. You can also try Benadryl (diphenhydramine). Don't use Tylenol pm as a sleep aid only since it has acetaminophen (in addition to the Benadryl (diphenhydramine)) which you probably not need.
