A member asked:

What shld be the optimal tsh level during pregnancy? mine was 2.85 & dr has prescribed 50mg thyronorm 6 days/week & 25mg 1/week. too high? 7 wks preg

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It depends,,,: Since thyroid levels are important during pregnancy, a normal TSH range is the best indicator of no disease. These days, anything around 2.5 is optimal as a higher level could mean an increased risk of hypothyroidism. Control of this is really important for normal fetal development.
