Get lab results: Is there a reason why a CBC is being drawn? a WBC is a marker of infection that goes up during times of inflammation. Sometimes, physiologic changes during pregnancy can lead to increases in your WBC and some physicians will not make much of it while others may mention it to you. Talk to your OB so that he/she may explain it to you and give you reassurance Best WIshes Dr M
