I started my birth control pills one week after my last period ended and started them on a monday. is that ok? will it ruin my cycle? am i protected?

Pill initiation: When you start the contraceptive pill at one week past the period, you will have to wait one month of use for it to be totally pregnancy preventive. Use a "back up" means of contraception such as a condom or VCF film until the next cycle month.

Once per day: If you were not on birth control before or you took more than 7 days off between packs then you should use condoms for two weeks before relying on the pill. Your cycle should come at the end of the new pack
