A member asked:

What is the safest narcotic to prescribe following a total thyroidectomy and why?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No such thing: There is no such thing as the "safest" narcotic. The safety of all opioids are about the same. Less is best. So the safest option is the lowest effective dose.
