Serotonin withdrawal: It may take a couple of weeks for your body to get adjusted to the decreasing lexapro (escitalopram). Initial symptoms Include an increase in anxiety, flu like symptoms, headache and restlessness. I would encourage you to be honest with your MD about your reasons for stopping medication - there are many alternative options which can be very effective. Good luck with your treatment.

Stopping Lexapro (escitalopram): You may have little or no Lexapro (escitalopram) withdrawal effects since 5 mg is low dose and you're taking Ativan which may cover any symptoms of anxiety. However, return of depression symptoms may occur. Best to discuss with prescribing doctor. See: http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/depression/expert-answers/antidepressant-withdrawal/FAQ-20058133 I hope this helps.
