Oral cancer: In the early stages an oral cancer can be soft, but as it advances, it will usually get hard, sometimes rock hard. As a cancer gets bigger, the tissues surrounding it will also become hard as the tumor starts to invade them. If an oral cancer becomes advanced, it will spread to the lymph nodes of the neck. If you think you have something that is concerning or suspicious, strongly recommend eval.

Either: Either. Any lumps/bumps in the mouth should be evaluated by oral surgeon or ENT doc.
