Does playing video games to much have an affect on your brain ?

Some studies say yes: The information about it is preliminary and in small studies. Much of it centers on how computer games affect vision, mood and sleep pattterns and the neurotransmitters affected in the process. It certainly interferes with good sleep patterns and ability to focus and concentrate following long hours on the computer. This is especially true for younger children whose brains are not yet mature.

It probably can: The studies are still helping doctors understand exactly what the long-term effects of prolonged video game exposure are but it certainly does seem to potentially affect sleep, concentration, and probably other functions as well in a negative way.
