Acute sinusitis: Treatment of sinusitis remains controversial, partly due to acute vs chronic nature. We also want to avoid antibiotic resistance since more upper respiratory infections are due to viruses. However, in cases such as yours, most of us would lean towards prescribing antibiotics.
