Not entirely clear: good news is there are no significant organs in the left upper abdomen-( e.g. gallbladder or appendix). The relationship to bowel movements raises the question of irritable bowel or constipation. I would suggest being sure you're using adequate fiber in your diet, drinking plenty of water and adding a probiotic ( yogurt or pill). If the pain worsens or you have new symptoms or fever see a doctor!
