Left side: Left abdominal discomfort with back radiation may occur with a kidney stone lodged in the ureter or with inflammation of the descending colon as seen in diverticulitis or inflammatory bowel disease. If symptoms persist see a physician and appropriate tests will be ordered in order to make a diagnosis.
