Women more likely to experience menstrual cramps have: •First menses less then 11 years old. •Heavy bleeding. •Obesity . •Smoking / alcohol use High levels of prostaglandins cause more intense contractions and more pain. Prostaglandins also cause the vomiting & diarrhea.
