Can a cold reactivate itself?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Cold: A typical head cold is caused by a virus and it runs its course after 7 to 10 days. If symptoms persist beyond that it is because of a subsequent bacterial infection causing a sinus or bronchial infection which may require antibiotic treatment. This would not be a reactivation of the original virus.
