If you also had: ...oral sex, you might have a Herpes infection. Herpes Type I usually causes cold sores and Herpes Type 2 usually causes genital Herpes. However, either one can cause sores in either location. Recurrent or multiple ulcers in the mouth should be checked out by a physician regardless of the cause. Best wishes. Dr. Anne.
