If the bruise or: hematoma has walled off like an abscess, and your body cannot reabsorp the crystals and hemosiderin that remains behind, which rarely can occur in the thigh given its poor blood supply to the fascia of the muscles, then you may not ever get rid of the hematoma.. Sorry to confirm your worst suspicion :(
