Chest pains: One possible cause is a pinched intercostal nerve or irritated/inflamed muscle. The nerve runs between two ribs and a deep breath causes a sharp,shooting pain. This is more if a nuisance disorder rather than anything serious and usually no specific treatment is needed. Discuss this with your physician.
