Consider acid reflux: In my experience with the problem of post-nasal drip and excess saliva, most of the time it is caused by acid reflux. Keep in mind that the production of the mucus that drains down your throat and the saliva production is a reflex that can be triggered by acid in the esophagus. Some people do not feel the acid because it comes only a short way up. try Pepcid or Nexium (esomeprazole) and see if it improves.
