Recurrent strain: most likely it's a recurrent strain. It's pretty hard to completely rest your achilles unless you've been in a wheelchair for 6-7 weeks. And in that case you'd expect to have some tightness and discomfort. Safest approach is likely to see a doc and get a couple of weeks of PT. ultrasound, gentle progressive stretching/strengthning, and ankle stabilizing exercise… good luck!
