Fake not as good: Artificial joints fail on the shear fact of being artificial. They don't self repair like our bodies, so they do not heal with wear and tear. The also cause local inflammation in/around bone causing "metalosis" (chromium and cobalt deposits from prosthesis in tissue around joint) causes complications. As bone ages, it may also weaken & not secure the prosthesis, allowing movement/malalignment.
