A member asked:

What could continuous pain at the top of the head be? the pain feels hot, like nerve pain, not a headache. nsaids relieves the pain but it returns.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

AVM: Fixed pain in 1 location in the head is a red flag for a vascular malformation such as an AVM or aneurysm. Brain MRI with MRA would be the test of choice to evaluate. Could also be a variant of trigeminal neuralgia, but that also requires imaging to evaluate for an aneurysm, so the work-up would be the same.
