Aneurysms: over 5cm may require surgery, but the exact answer to your question depends on clinical factors as well as the size, extent, location, and rate of growth of the aneurysm, so you need to have a discussion with your doctor about the best course of action in your particular case. There are risks/benefits to either having or not having surgery, and these need to be evaluated.

Triple A >5 cm: It is recommended that aortic aneurysm greater than 5.5 -6.0 cm should be surgically repair. If you have symptoms then it should be repair earlier. Smaller ones may be monitor for increasing size.
