Drink: How do you know it is a stone, I assume you had an Xray. Someone should have told you to hydrate to the maximum. In the hospital we flood you with IV fluids- but you can accomplish the same at home with forced drinking. If stones don't pass they may need surgery. Watch for signs of infection like fevers! Take any available pain medicine. Your period doesn't matter. Hope you feel better soon.

Not really...: There is no perfectly proven means to facilitate stone passage from kidney through ureter into bladder although the combination of increasing fluid intake so to make more urine and taking alpha-blocker (with tamsulosin as most studied) with more upright positioning + pain control still remains the key regimen. For 4-mm stone, the odd for spontaneous pass in 2 wks is 75-85%. More? Ask urologist.
