A member asked:

I occasionally use a light absorbency tampon for ovulation spotting or post-menstrual spotting. just feels cleaner than a liner. is it safe though?

Safe: Using a tampon for occasional spotting is safe as long as you are using them correctly. In general you shouldn't leave a tampon in more than 8 hours. Best wishes!

Safe but...: It is safe, but please change the tampon frequently in spite of the light spotting. This is not a place to "save money" as Toxic Shock Syndrome is a death knell.
