I have been spotting for a couple days now today i went to put a tampon in just to be safe and blood just gushed out as soon as i out it in is it bad?

Probably not.: If this occurred around the time of your scheduled menstrual period, a clot might have formed at the cervical opening, preventing the free flow of menstrual blood. Then, when removing the tampon, the clot may have been dislodged, allowing the menstrual blood to flow.
