Depends on what: Ur "sedative sleeping pill" is. A benzodiazepine or muscle relaxant can both be sedating and work well for spasticity. How do you know that you have muscle spasticity? Why do you have spasticity? Need more information about your history and condition before more salient advice can be given.

Sedatives: People have differing reactions to hypnotics(ambien,sonata (zaleplon) etc), benzodiazepines (Xanax, klonopin etc) muscle relaxants (flexural etc) and other central nervous system depressants so you need to work closely with your doctor to find solutions.
