It's the burning: The feeling of acid reflux can be uncomfortable and painful, but many things distinguish from a heart attack - precipitating factors, lifestyle, family history, diet, etc.

Way the body works.: It's related to the location of the pains, in the chest, and how your brain interprets the sensation sent to it by the esophagus. But you're right - reflux and esophageal spasm can easily feel like a heart attack.
